WBC Count still down

Chantel had her chemo session on Tuesday. Her bloodwork came back and her white blood cell count is still down so we are going to the hospital today to start the drug regiman to get her granulocytes back up. Chantel and I are going to the hospital this afternoon to get her first injection and they will show both of us how to do it going forward as she will need to take 5 shots leading up to each subsequent chemo session. So if I ever become a herion addict or get diabetes, I will be ready to use a needle ;-)

Chantel's chemo delayed due to low white blood cell counts

Chantel's chemo has been postponed 3 times this week hoping that her WBC count will increase. It seems that her granulocytes have not recovered as quickly as she needs to continue chemo. If it does not recover enough by Monday, she will have to start on a drug regimen to increase her WBC up. She needs to get her WBC count up to ensure she does not get an infection. Filgrastim costs $1,000 per dose and will have to be taken a few days prior to each treatment and may need to be used until the end of her treatment.

Caius shaved his head for Mother's Day for Chantel

Caius approached me a few days prior to Mother's Day and said he wanted to shave his head to support Chantel during her chemo. Here is a photo of Chantel and Caius.




Here is a recent photo of Marcus. He is doing really well. His current stats are 24.5" in length and 11lbs in weight. He is pretty happy and I better get snipped quick or Chantel will have me trying to get her pregnant again when the time is right ;-)

Chantel's hair is leaving the domicile!

Sorry for the delay getting this next post up... We are all doing well but sleeping less with Marcus reminding us of the 'fun' of late-night chats... ;-)

Chantel finished her 4th round of chemo yesterday. She experienced nausea for the first time and looked a little green around the gills between 11pm and 2am. She is feeling fine today.

Her hair is falling out but she is lucky that it is so thick. She had it cut last weekend so it is a cute "peter pan" doo. Her new cut makes her eyes look amazing but it is a little scary kissing a girl with hair closer to kd lang... ;-)
